Second Annual Independent Game Conference Announces ``Back to Basics' Agenda for Developers: How to Survive the Technology and Business Challenges

AUSTIN, Texas (BusinessWire EON) July 18, 2007 -- A Keynote Address will be given by Mike Wilson, CEO and Harry Miller, President and Chief Development Officer of Gamecock Media Group, a well-funded, independent, artist-driven game publishing company, which offers titles across every platform. Wilson's video gaming history began at id Software where, as vice president of marketing, he helped make the DOOM 2 and Quake properties net-propagated global phenomena. In 1996, he left id to help form ION Storm with some of the industry's top game designers and took on the role of CEO. Miller served as CEO of Ritual Entertainment, where he helped launch successful properties such as SiN and Heavy Metal FAKK 2. In 1998, Wilson and Miller banded together with other industry stars to form an artist-driven video and computer game publisher, Gathering of Developers (a.k.a. G.O.D. Games). The company was known for the innovative nature of its products, for its risk-taking approach to new intellectual property, and for producing amazing marketing and PR programs to drive sales at a fraction of the marketing expense of most of the major labels. They founded Gamecock Media Group in 2007 with the aim of helping independent studios bring their titles to market while retaining control over their development vision.
